In brief: Faith in Action respects your privacy. We do not collect any personal data, do not track your activity, and all your data remains on your device. This app is designed for your spiritual growth, not to exploit your information.

Welcome to Faith in Action. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being completely transparent about how our application works. This privacy policy explains how we handle (or rather, don't handle) your personal data.

3.1 Locally Stored Data

All your personal data is stored exclusively on your device using AsyncStorage and is never transmitted to our servers or third parties. This data includes:

Username: Optional name chosen by you during onboarding, stored locally
Bible translation preferences: Your preferred translation (World English Bible, Louis Segond 1910, or Reina-Valera 1909)
Favorite verses: Verses you have saved as favorites
Personal verses: Verses you have created with personal actions
Reading plan progress: Completed days, accomplished actions, progression statistics
Notification settings: Reminder times configured by you
Appearance preferences: Dark/light mode settings
Onboarding data: Religious tradition, selected spiritual needs, preferred time

Important: This data remains on your device. If you uninstall the app, it will be deleted. We cannot recover it.

3.2 Data We Do NOT Collect

❌ No unique device identifiers (except those managed by Apple/Google for subscriptions)
❌ No third-party analytics data (no Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, etc.)
❌ No advertising tracking

❌ No browsing history or in-app behavior tracking

4. Use of Permissions

Important: All permissions are optional. The application works without these permissions, but some features (image sharing, notifications) will not be available.

4.1 iOS Permissions

NSPhotoLibraryUsageDescription: "Save your favorite verses as beautiful images to share with your community."
NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription: "Allow Faith in Action to save verse images to your photo library."
Notifications: "Receive your daily verses and spiritual actions to nourish your faith."

4.2 How Permissions Are Used

Notifications: Generated locally on your device. No data is sent to our servers. You can enable, disable, or change notification times anytime in settings.

Photo Library: Permission is only requested when you want to save an image. We never read your existing photos.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat (https://www.revenuecat.com) to manage Premium subscriptions. RevenueCat collects:

Subscription identifiers
Subscription status
Transaction history

This data is used solely for managing Premium subscriptions (weekly, monthly, annual). RevenueCat's privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

5.2 Apple App Store

Payments for Premium subscription are processed by:

iOS: Apple App Store (subject to Apple's Privacy Policy)

We do not process, store, or have access to your credit card or payment information. This information is managed directly by Apple. Device identifiers necessary for in-app purchases are managed by Apple, not by our application.

6. Sharing Data with Third Parties

We share NO personal data with third parties beyond what is necessary for subscription management through RevenueCat. There are no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no business partners. Your personal data (favorites, notes, progress) never leaves your device.

7. Data Security

Your data is protected by your operating system's (iOS) security mechanisms:

Local storage: Data stored in AsyncStorage is encrypted by the operating system
Application data isolation: Sandbox protection ensures your data is isolated from other apps
Device protection: Protected by your device's passcode or biometrics
No network transmission: Since no personal data is transmitted online, we don't need complex network security measures

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained on your device as long as the app is installed. If you uninstall the app, all local data is automatically deleted by your operating system.

9. Your Rights

Although we do not collect any personal data on our servers, you have the following rights regarding data stored locally on your device:

Right of access (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD): All your data is visible in the app
Right to rectification (GDPR, LGPD): You can modify your information anytime in settings
Right to erasure (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD): Uninstall the app to delete all data
Right to portability (GDPR): Currently not available as data cannot be exported
Right to opt-out (CCPA): Not applicable as we do not sell personal information

For European Union users, you benefit from GDPR protections. For California residents, you benefit from CCPA protections. For Brazilian users, you benefit from LGPD protections.

10. International Transfers

There are no international data transfers because all your data remains on your device in your country.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will indicate when the policy was last modified.

Significant changes will be notified within the app before they take effect.

12. Third-Party Applications

The app contains no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs. The only external content integrated is biblical text (public domain).

13. Minor Users (COPPA Compliance)

Faith in Action is suitable for all ages. However, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the application is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not intentionally collect any personal information from children under 13.
